"Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand." -Isaiah 41:10
Boxing, golf, bowling, tennis, and UFC are primarily one-on-one
sports in which athletes must rely on their training, preparation
(offseason/in-season), and mentality in order to press through and
win. This is very different from team sports like football, volleyball, lacrosse, and basketball, which require an athlete to rely on his/her own
ability and instincts and his/her teammates’ ability and instincts to
reach that common goal of winning.
• Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you felt alone?
• Have you been sad after someone who is close to you passed
away?
• Have you ever felt like everyone is turning their backs on you?
• Have you ever felt alone and betrayed after your best friend has
done you wrong?
• Have you ever felt betrayed and alone after your boyfriend/girlfriend or spouse has cheated on you?
• Have you ever felt alone while in prison or do you know someone
who is in prison and wondering when they will be released?
• Have you or a loved one been ill and wonder if or when God will
heal? Have you ever been homeless and wondered if God was going to
supply your needs?
• Have you been single for a long period of time and you’ve been
constantly praying and asking God to bring a man or woman of
God into your life?
Unlike one-on-one sports, you are never alone with God on your side.
God loves you because He is love! God sees all and knows all that you are
going through because He is omnipresent and all-knowing. Since God is
all-knowing and omnipresent, nothing can be hidden from Him.
God oftentimes allows things to happen in your life so that you can
draw closer to Him, to help build your character and faith, and to get the
glory out of your life. God wants us to trust Him even in our darkest moments. It is often in the difficult moments of life that God shows Himself
strong. But we must realize how important it is to have faith because
without it, “it is impossible to please God” (Hebrews 11:6).
Faith unlocks the door for God to bless you and work in your life. God
will take care of your needs. You don’t have to be depressed. God will give
you peace and strength. It is so important to seek Him in prayer, read/
study His word, and seek godly counsel. You are not alone, God loves you.
Allow God to work in your life. He knows what He is doing.
