In 2016, Damari Hendrix was shot in the head in Chicago where he played high school basketball at Foreman High School. He suffered a traumatic brain injury. Damari was given a one percent chance to live…BUT GOD. He healed him and 14 months later, Damari was back on the court.

Damari could easily have given up when he received the doctor’s report, but he persevered and didn’t allow the negativity to affect him. God is really good! You may have dealt with a life-altering injury or sickness in general or you may know someone who has dealt with a negative doctor’s report. But through those circumstances, know that God doesn’t hate you. He loves you and because He loves you, He can also heal you. God allowed His own son, Jesus, to die for our sins. Jesus not only died for our sins, but He came to save souls so that they can ultimately believe in Him as their Lord and Savior. One more thing that we must remember is that Jesus healed many during His life on Earth. Some examples include:

• Jesus healed the blind and deaf man (Mark 7:31-37).

• Jesus healed Peter’s mother-in-law who was sick with a fever (Matthew 8:14-17).

• Jesus healed someone with a deformed hand (Mark 3:3-5).

• Jesus healed the woman with the issue of blood (Matthew 9:20-22).

• Jesus even raised a young lady from the dead (Matthew 9:18-26).

I do not know about your specific circumstance. However, I do know that everything happens for a reason. So never stop praying, never stop seeking and drawing close to God, and never lose hope. Center yourself around God-fearing, saved people who have your best interest at heart and will pray for you, not condemn you. Finally, put ALL your trust in God.

Remember that God is a healer and no matter what you may be dealing with and how things may look in people’s eyes, God is in control and will always make a way out of no way if you put your trust in Him!
