"Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me. He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases." -Psalm 103:2-3 NLT

James Conner is from Erie, Pennsylvania. While in Erie, he attended McDowell Senior High School, where he played defensive lineman and running back for the Trojans football team. As a senior, he rushed for 1,680 yards and 26 touchdowns on 155 carries. The 6’1’’, 233 lb. running back played college football at the University of Pittsburgh from 2013-2016.

In December 2015, Conner was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a type of cancer usually found in children and young adults. In 2016, a miracle happened—he overcame the cancer. Conner finished his Pitt Panther career as the ACC All-Time Touchdowns Leader with 56 career touchdowns and the ACC All-Time Rushing Touchdowns with 52. Also, he was named First Team All-ACC in 2016. Then, he was drafted as the 105th pick in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Currently, he is the starting running back for the Pittsburgh Steelers. In addition, he was an AFC Pro Bowler in 2018.

One thing that God has shown through James Conner’s testimony is that He is a healer! Through the pain, Conner was able to endure and overcome something as drastic as cancer. There is someone out there who may be dealing with some sort of physical ailment or disease. Please know that God is a healer. Always remember that with God, “all things are possible to those that believe” (Mark 9:23). Whatever the enemy meant for your bad, know that God will turn it around for your good (Genesis 50:20). Don’t give up, don’t lose hope, and continue to put your trust in God. Do you believe in God? Do you believe that God can do all things? Guess what? He can do all things but fail (Luke 1:37).

Someone you know may be dealing with other issues from an emotional, mental, professional, marital standpoint and even spiritual warfare but know this: God loves you! He wouldn’t have allowed any difficult situation to occur in your life if He didn’t think that you could handle it or ultimately conquer from it. God allows certain things to happen in your life not only to help you build endurance but also help you grow in your faith. God knows exactly what He is doing! God is a healer.
