"There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit." -Romans 8:1 NKJV

In March 2016, University of Alabama wide receiver Henry Ruggs, III lost his close friend, Rod Scott, due to head injuries sustained in a car accident. His friend and some others were on their way to attend a state playoff basketball game in Birmingham, Alabama. Ruggs III had planned to travel with the group, but couldn’t because he was sick with the flu. Ruggs III and Scott had played high school basketball together. They were so close that Scott was the reason that Ruggs had eventually taken football seriously and why he ultimately decided to attend the University of Alabama. Rod Scott saw the football talent that Henry Ruggs III exhibited.

After the death of his friend, Ruggs III felt guilty because he knew that if he was with his friends that day, Scott would have let him drive. One thing that we must understand is that everything happens for a reason. If Ruggs III had been in the car that day, there is a chance that he wouldn’t be here today excelling on the football field.

God “sees the end from the beginning” and has a plan for everything. There are many times in life when we have done something that we regret and we may feel responsible for it. Because of God allowing His Son, Jesus to die for us, we have His grace. Because we have God’s grace, believers in Jesus don’t have to live in guilt or condemnation.

If you have made a mistake, know that God loves you and repent. If you know someone who has made a mistake, show the love of Jesus, speak the truth in love to them, and pray for them. Let go of the past and remember N.G.A....“No Guilt Allowed."
