"But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God's very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for He called you out of the darkness into His wonderful light.

"Once you had no identity as a people; now you are God's people. Once you received no mercy; now you have received God's mercy."

            -1 Peter 2:9-10 NLT

Cooper Kupp is from Yakima, Washington; he attended Davis High School where he was a two-sport athlete in football and basketball. Kupp played college football at Eastern Washington University . The 6'2 wide receiver dominated on the football field at Eastern Washington. He finished his college career with 73 career receptions for 6,494 yards, and 73 touchdowns. Kupp accomplished a great deal as an Eastern Washington Eagle; he was a four-time Consensus First Team FCS All-American, 2013 Jerry Rice Award Winner for the top freshman in the FCS, 2015 & 2016 FCS ADA National Offensive Player of the Year, and many more. After a stellar college football career, Kupp was drafted 69th overall in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Rams.

Kupp, who is considered a Christian had a beautiful quote on sportsspectrum.com (a daily resource for sports news covering athletes and other sports figures who express their faith in Jesus), he stated, "Knowing where you identity is and knowing that as much as I want to be a football player and I strive to be that, I'm so much more than that,"...."This life is temporary but there's such things ahead. No matter what the naysayers say, no matter what anyone tells me, I know that my identity is in Christ and nothing can take me off that."

We as Christians must remember that we must represent God everywhere we go. 1 Timothy 4:12 reminds us "Don't let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity."

We may work as professors, doctors, lawyers, nurses, cops, teachers, entrepreneurs, an employee at McDonald's; we may be black, white, asian, etc., if you are a Christian, nothing trumps that. We must remember that we are Christians first, no matter the situation, we must always take Christian approach in every circumstance by being an example of Jesus. This means that we must glorify God in our actions, thoughts, speech, love, faith, etc.

Find your identity in Jesus Christ, don't allow your economic status, occupation, fame, fortune, or anything else to determine who you are or whose you are. When you find your identity in Christ, nothing or no one should cause you to lose your joy, peace, praise, worship, etc. Find your identity in Jesus Christ and in Him alone.
